Rex W. Tillerson
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation

A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mr. Tillerson earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin before joining Exxon Company, U.S.A. in 1975 as a Production Engineer. He held several engineering, technical and supervisory assignments in the EUSA Production Department throughout Texas and in 1987, was named Business Development Manager in the EUSA Natural Gas Department, where his responsibilities included developing long-range plans for commercialization of Alaska and Canadian Beaufort Sea gas.

In 1989, he became General Manager of EUSA's Central Production Division, responsible for oil and gas production operations throughout a large portion of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.

Mr. Tillerson moved to Dallas in 1992 as Production Advisor to Exxon Corporation and then to Florham Park, New Jersey as Coordinator of Affiliate Gas Sales in Exxon Co., International.

Three years later he was named President of Exxon Yemen Inc. and Esso Exploration and Production Khorat Inc., and in January 1998 became Vice President of Exxon Ventures (CIS) Inc. and President of Exxon Neftegas Limited. In those roles, he was responsible for Exxon's holdings in Russia and the Caspian Sea as well as the Sakhalin I Consortium operations offshore Sakhalin Island, Russia. 

In December 1999, he became Executive Vice President of ExxonMobil Development Company.

Mr. Tillerson was named Senior Vice President of Exxon Mobil Corporation in August 2001, and was elected President of the Corporation and member of the board of directors on March 1, 2004. He assumed his current position January 1, 2006.

Mr. Tillerson is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Petroleum Institute, the U.S.-Russia Business Council, the United Negro College Fund, the Board of Trustees of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Engineering Foundation Advisory Council for the University of Texas at Austin and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

 

 

Stuart R. McGill is senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

A native of Australia, Dr. McGill holds a bachelor's degree and a doctorate in chemical engineering from Sydney University.

Dr. McGill joined Esso Australia Ltd. in 1969 as an engineer in their Production Department and held various engineering assignments in their offices in Melbourne, Longford and Long Island Point, as well as assignments with Exxon Company, USA and Exxon Production Research in Houston, TX. In 1974, he was appointed corporate planning manager in Esso Australia Ltd., and, in 1977, area production manager.

Dr. McGill returned to the United States in 1978 where he was Operations Division manager in Exxon Company, USA's Southeastern Division in New Orleans, LA. In 1979, he transferred to Houston as coordinator in the Supply Department of Exxon Company, USA.

In 1980, he became managing director of Esso Production Malaysia Inc. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 1983, he was named director of Esso Australia Ltd. and, in 1985, was appointed chairman and managing director. In 1988, he returned to the United States as vice president of Exxon Company, International with responsibility for Supply, Transportation and Middle East Producer Relations. During this assignment, he was appointed to a special eight-month assignment as executive assistant to the chairman and chief executive officer of Exxon Corporation in New York. In 1991, he transferred to the Benelux where he was appointed chief executive officer of Esso Holding Company Holland Inc. and of Esso B.V. He returned to the United States in July of 1994 as executive vice president of Exxon Company, International with responsibility for Exxon's oil and gas activities outside the United States and Canada. In January, 1998, he was named president of Exxon Company, International. Subsequent to the ExxonMobil merger, he was appointed president of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company in December 1999. He was appointed president of ExxonMobil Production Company in July 2003. In October 2004, Dr. McGill was named senior vice president for the Corporation.

Dr. McGill is a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

 

 

J. Stephen Simon is a senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation, and was made a member of its board of directors on January 25, 2006.

Mr. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Duke University and an MBA from Northwestern University. He joined Exxon Company, U.S.A. in July 1967 and shortly thereafter began a two-year assignment in the United States Army. He returned to Exxon U.S.A. in July 1969 as a business analyst in the Baton Rouge Refinery.

After holding a variety of supervisory and managerial positions throughout the Baton Rouge and Baytown refineries, and Exxon U.S.A.'s Refining and Controller's departments, Mr. Simon became executive assistant to Exxon U.S.A.'s executive vice president located in Houston.

In 1980, he returned to the Baton Rouge Refinery as Operations Division manager, following which he became refinery manager. In 1983, Mr. Simon moved to New York where he was executive assistant to the president of Exxon Corporation. In 1984, he moved to London, England, as supply manager in the Petroleum Products Department of Esso Europe Inc. and then supply and transportation manager. Mr. Simon returned to Houston in 1986 as general manager of Exxon U.S.A.'s Supply Department, and in 1988, he became chief executive and general manager, Esso Caribbean and Central America located in Coral Gables, Florida.

Mr. Simon moved to Italy in 1992, to become executive vice president and then president of Esso Italiana. He returned to the United States in 1997 and was named an executive vice president of Exxon Company, International, headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey. In December 1999, he was appointed president of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company and vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation. In December 2004, he assumed his current position as senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Mr. Simon has served on the local boards of many voluntary organizations, including United Way, Boy Scouts, and the Salvation Army, and is a member of the Governance Committee of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering. He has also served on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute and the National Association of Manufacturers. He is a member of the Board of Visitors for Duke University’s School of Engineering and a member of the President’s Council. In addition, he is on the Kellogg Advisory Board of Northwestern University.

 

 

 

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mr. Humphreys earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974. He obtained an M.B.A from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania before joining Exxon Chemical Company in 1976. In 1986, after several assignments in Houston, Baton Rouge and Baytown, he transferred to Exxon Corporation in New York as senior financial advisor in the Controller's Department. In 1988, he moved to Exxon Company, International as financial reporting manager and later served as assistant general auditor. In 1990, Mr. Humphreys became upstream controller of Exxon Company, U.S.A.

In 1993, he moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as financial director of the Exxon companies in Malaysia. Mr. Humphreys became an assistant treasurer of Exxon Corporation in January 1997 and was elected vice president and controller in July 1997.

Concurrent with the merger with Mobil in 1999, Mr. Humphreys was named vice president and controller of Exxon Mobil Corporation. In July 2004, Mr. Humphreys was named vice president and treasurer of Exxon Mobil Corporation.  He was elected senior vice president and treasurer and also joined the Corporation's Management Committee effective January 1, 2006. 

Mr. Humphreys is a member of Financial Executives International, the American Petroleum Institute and the Conference Board's Council of Financial Executives.
